Because rating systems can be different depending on the person who’s rating, I’m gonna give you a quick overview of what my ratings mean!
★ → This really, really wasn’t for me. I had to drag myself through this book and can probably not even look at it without feeling incredibly disappointed.
★★ → There were some things that were good, but the bad outweighs that. Probably not my cup of tea and didn’t enjoy it.
★★★ → I really enjoyed this! Most of the time this means it was a really good book, but I just felt like there was something missing/I couldn’t fully connect with the story or its characters.
★★★★ → This book was so good! There’s a great chance that I cried, because…well…I almost always do!
★★★★★ → No words. I’m obsessed.
So, that is that! I do work with ratings like 3.5 and stuff like that too, but I hope you understand the basic concept now! Little disclaimer though: my thoughts on books can change pretty quickly because I always rate a book right after I’ve finished it, and on my blog I rarely go back and change it. On Goodreads I do, but not always.
I also obviously rate things from my experience and I’m very aware that everyone has a reason for (not) liking a book. If I don’t like a book I review, that doesn’t mean you won’t/can’t! Also important: I’m always honest with my ratings and reviews.
I hope everything’s clear!
