Cover reveal: This cursed crown (Alexandra Overy) – These feathered flames #2 + why you should pick up this series!

Have I made it completely clear to everyone how much I love These feathered flames? Because if not, hi! I am beyond in love with everything about this YA debut! From the complicated sister bonding to the mysterious and unique magic this world brings to the sapphic angst.

As it is one of my absolute favourites of 2021 already, I think it’s safe to say I about dropped dead when Alexandra Overy contacted me for the cover reveal of the sequel! These feathered flames ended on a note that gives This cursed crown SO much potential (and me SO much stress), and I’m dying to see where Asya’s and Izaveta’s stories will take us!

This cover is absolutely stunning, so what if we just take a look at it? Let me introduce you to These feathered flames again first though!

A queer retelling of “The Firebird,” a Russian folktale.

When twin heirs are born in Tourin, their fates are decided at a young age. While Izaveta remained at court to learn the skills she’d need as the future queen, Asya was taken away to train with her aunt, the mysterious Firebird, who ensured magic remained balanced in the realm.

But before Asya’s training is completed, the ancient power blooms inside her, which can mean only one thing: the queen is dead, and a new ruler must be crowned.

As the princesses come to understand everything their roles entail, they’ll discover who they can trust, who they can love—and who killed their mother.
